Do I have to declare tax for income gained from affiliate programmes?

As zanox is not authorised to provide you with official legal advice, you should always consult your accountant or your local tax office for all questions pertaining to tax issues.

As a rule, you have to declare income gained from zanox-affiliate in your income tax return just like your income from interest and other sources. While the income has to be declared, this does not mean that you necessarily have to pay tax on it. Your tax office will decide if this income is liable for tax.

Your income is liable for VAT if you are a VAT-registered business. If so, you should indicate this in "Profile" > "Account information" in the zanox login section alongside your tax number. zanox will then credit you the net commission plus the current VAT. This means it is your responsibility to pay the VAT received from us to your tax office. If you registered yourself with us as a private affiliate (not VAT-registered - private individual), we will pay the VAT for you.
