Is the product ID (<productItem id="76485b5f7021f7bc03b853fbf5debb53">) which is delivered when looking for products (REST or SOAP unique in any way?

Yes! This ID is unique for every product. If for example the advertiser changes the price for a product the ID still remains the same.

However, advertisers remove sometimes some product offers and promote it again after some weeks/months. But if the advertisers haven't changed to much crucial information on that product the ID still remains the same.

I tried the GetAdmediaByIp request from SOAP API, but it never brought me back any results. I also tried the example from the wiki,without success.

Not in every sales region are enough advertisers using geo-targeted campains supporting the new functionality "GetAdmediaByIp". We let you know as soon as enough advertisers running geo-targeted campains and will list them in this wiki.

Why is the <publisher>-Tag empty when retrieving Leads and/or sales?

This tag is only filled if you use subaffiliates/sub-publishers.. If you're using sub-publisher / sub-affiliate tracking, the node "publisher" specifies "your" publishers.
